Business Eswatini (BE) recently hosted Marc. A. Weinstock, the newly appointed U.S. Embassy\u2019s Charg\u00e9 d’Affaires (CDA), who was accompanied by Allen Hodges, the US Embassy’s Political Economic Officer during a courtesy visit to Business Eswatini Offices.<\/p>\n
The duo was warmly received by BE\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, E. Nathi Dlamini, who extended his gratitude for the engagement and reaffirmed the organization\u2019s commitment to fostering stronger economic and commercial ties between Eswatini\u2019s private sector and the United States.<\/p>\n
In his welcoming remarks, Dlamini provided an overview of Business Eswatini\u2019s mandate and highlighted its role as the apex umbrella body that is responsible for well over 90% of the private sector GDP contribution in the country.<\/p>\n
He noted the privilege of leading such a purpose-driven organization, while also reflecting on Eswatini\u2019s unique beauty as contrasted against the pressing challenges of unemployment in the country.<\/p>\n
Dlamini also addressed Eswatini\u2019s economic outlook and painted a buoyant picture going forward.<\/p>\n
He then expressed optimism that, despite any potential future adjustments especially regarding artificial trade barriers between the two countries, Eswatini would remain keenly aligned with United States investors.<\/p>\n

He did note, however, that the US enjoys a trade surplus with Eswatini and hoped that this will stand the country in good stead on any future tariffing discussions.<\/p>\n
CDA Weinstock commended Business Eswatini for her role in the private sector\u2019s contribution to the country\u2019s economic development.<\/p>\n
He then introduced to BE the US\u2019 concept of \u2018Commercial Diplomacy\u2019, stating that it seeks to deepen business ties between entities of both countries. To this end, he said he would devote his tenure to ensuring that this concept yields mutual benefits for both countries.<\/p>\n
He further stated that the concept seeks to deepen bilateral business ties to unlock opportunities for investments.<\/p>\n
As part of the discussions, CDA Weinstock posed several questions on the investment landscape of the country and BE enthusiastically responded and further shared about Eswatini\u2019s leading exports.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, CDA Weinstock outlined the Embassy\u2019s key priorities under his leadership and concluded by reaffirming his confidence in the partnership between the U.S. Embassy and Business Eswatini.<\/p>\n
