The City of Windhoek has signed a twinning agreement with the Matsapha Town Council.<\/p>\n
The agreement was signed by the City Windhoek Mayor, Councillor Ndeshihafela Larandja and Matsapha Town Council Mayor, Lindiwe Dlamini in Windhoek, Namibia.<\/p>\n
The partnership establishes a framework for cooperation in key areas, including, economic development, with a focus on supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and promoting investment and environmental sustainability, through knowledge exchange and the adoption of practices that foster greener, more resilient cities.<\/p>\n
The framework for cooperation will also focus on education and innovation, by advancing knowledge-sharing, skills transfer, and capacity-building initiatives and also on tourism, heritage, and culture by strengthening cultural exchanges that celebrate diversity and enhance people-to-people connections.<\/p>\n

During the signing ceremony, Mayor Larandja noted that the agreement was more than just a formal document, but a shared vision of collaboration, innovation, and prosperity for the two communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur partnership is not only about local development but also about contributing to the broader vision of an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa, as outlined in the African Union\u2019s Agenda 2063,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Mayor Dlamini, who was leading a four-person delegation, singed the twining agreement during a five-day familiarisation visit to Windhoek.<\/p>\n
Their programme included visits to several City of Windhoek facilities, such as the Katutura Buy Back Centre, Bokamoso Entrepreneurial Centre, Gammams Wastewater Treatment Works, Goreangab Water Reclamation Plant, and the Kupferberg Waste Disposal Facility.<\/p>\n
