{"id":779,"date":"2025-07-31T19:38:52","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T17:38:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swazidailynews.com\/?p=779"},"modified":"2025-07-31T19:38:52","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T17:38:52","slug":"country-needs-more-dialysis-centres-senator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genesisekucalenimedia.com\/edn\/779\/business\/country-needs-more-dialysis-centres-senator\/","title":{"rendered":"Country needs more dialysis centres &#8211; Senator"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senator Isaac Mmemo Magagula has applauded the hands-on approach of the Minister of Health while simultaneously raising serious concerns over the shortage of dialysis centres and staff in the ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking during Tuesday\u2019s Ministry of Health Portfolio Committee Sitting, Senator Magagula acknowledged the Minister\u2019s visible leadership but warned of the risks it may bring if not properly managed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYour hands-on administration should be commended, Honourable Minister,\u201d Magagula said. \u201cHaving a minister who works or goes around the office gives an opportunity or opens a gate to corruption.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Magagula went on to praise the establishment of a dedicated cancer clinic in the country but urged the ministry to intensify the fight against the disease, which continues to claim many lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHaving a special cancer clinic should be applauded. This is not enough. The facilities must be expanded to meet the demand,\u201d Magagula submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further lamented the shortage of staff within the Ministry of Health, noting that the lack of medical personnel is hindering service delivery in clinics and hospitals across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Ministry needs urgent attention when it comes to human resources.
